The Basel Art Center is an exhibition space that can be rented. Whether for your own art exhibition or for other private, cultural or corporate events – we are your event location in Basel.

Just a few minutes’ walk from Art Basel-Space 31, the premises of the Basel Art Center offer a personal atmosphere for the organization of a wide variety of exhibitions. Divided into booths, the space offers sufficient room for a wide variety of exhibition participants.

Thanks to a selection of different rooms, their neutral design and a spacious area, it is possible to plan exhibitions of all kinds. Whether sculptures, oil paintings, photographs, video and audio files or performances, Basel Art Centers-Space 31 has hosted exhibitions of all kinds in recent years.

Performances

Performances of all kinds are perfect for being staged in the spacious rooms of the Basel Art Center-Space 31. The height of the room and the wide areas offer enough space to move freely and set no limits to your creativity.

Meetings

The Basel Art Centers-Space 31 rooms offer a quiet and private environment for conferences and meetings ranging in size from large seminars to small groups and workshops. Conferences hosting simultaneous events or breakout sessions are recommended to rent several rooms at the Basel Art Center.

Readings

As part of some of our past events, the latest books have been presented in Basel Art Center Space 31. The high ceiling guarantees high-quality acoustics, which give the readings the necessary ambience. Sofas, individual armchairs and chairs provide seating for up to 100 people.

Workshops

Our art center not only offers space for exhibitions and events, but also for workshops. Creative people have the opportunity to hold their own courses, seminars or creative events in inspiring surroundings.

Auctions

The Basel Art Center-Space 31 has already been used as a venue for spectacular auctions in recent years. The generous wall surfaces offer enough space to present all the works of art on offer for preview. A large number of bidders can make themselves comfortable in our spacious rooms.

Film and photo shoots

Our premises have already been hired for film and photo shoots for a wide variety of formats. It is possible to shoot films, TV shows, music videos, commercials, portraits, catalog and fashion photography here. The neutral walls of Basel Art Center-Space 31 are ideal as a simple canvas.

Prices

The Basel Art Center-Space 31 can be rented. The rental price depends on the type of event, the duration and the period of the event. The Main Hall (including Exhibition Spaces 2 and 3) is rented at CHF 380.00 per day and Exhibition Spaces 4 and 5 as well as the terrace at CHF 50.00 per day.

Special rates apply during Art Basel. A reduction in rental costs is possible for set-up and dismantling days and for rentals of 5 days or more.

It is also possible to book a group exhibition with 4 artists. The exhibition lasts 4 days and runs from Thursday to Sunday. The Main Hall and Exhibition Spaces 2 and 3 are available as exhibition space. The price for a group exhibition is CHF 480.

Insurance is the responsibility of the artists.

Logistics

The truck access on the first floor with electric roller shutter door and two goods lifts make it easy to deliver works of art.

On request, we can organize the exhibition or event, from delivery of the works to installation and hanging, together with our own logistics company Monro Fine Logistics.

The Mainhall has a total area of 151 m2 and is 2.5 m high. It offers space for a large number of works of art in a special atmosphere.

The exhibition walls are constructed in solid wood architecture and are suitable for nailing and screwing of any kind. Several sockets are installed. A large window front and 15 daylight fluorescent tubes illuminate the scene. It also has an inviting reception desk.

The main hall adjoins the covered 30 m2 terrace with a view over the rooftops of Kleinbasel and can be reached by stairs and elevator.

A toilet and a washroom with washbasin round off the infrastructure.

It is possible to rent the Mainhall (including Exhibition Spaces 2 and 3) separately or in combination with our other premises.

With sizes ranging from 22m2 to 33m2, exhibition rooms 4 and 5 offer the opportunity to stage smaller exhibitions and events. They can be rented individually or in conjunction with the Main Hall for larger exhibitions.

The walls of the Exhibition Spaces to the Main Hall are movable and can be moved against the wall. This allows the exhibition area of the Main Hall to be easily enlarged.

The exhibition walls are constructed in solid wood architecture and are suitable for nailing and screwing of any kind. Several sockets are installed. Daylight fluorescent tubes and spotlights illuminate your works of art.
